Fetchmail

Fetchmail is a mail retrieval agent, a piece of software, able to download mail messages from remote POP3, IMAP, ETRN or ODMR mail server. The program itself is rarely used nowadays, due to a large number of known vulnerabilities and design flaws. More modern agents such as Getmail should be used instead.

Due to security risks, Fetchmail should not be used for real-life mail servers checks and message processing, its importance is mostly historical, related to open source software development movement.
