WMI counter

WMI Performance counter, or WMI counter is a value provided by the so called WMI performance classes and is used to indicate the state of a given resource. Basic usage of WMI counters is to monitor system activity and spot important events (such as exhausting important resources).

There are several counter types (noncomputational, basic algorithm, counter algorithm, timer algorithm etc.), that can be used under different circumstance. One can use WMI counters API to access the required type of counters from given WMI providers. This can significantly simplify system data analysis and monitoring.
