Maintenance

This page allows you to specify a maintenance period for each host. By default, hosts are monitored permanently (no maintenance). You can define one-time maintenance for the host, for example, if you have to shut it down to repair hardware. You can also select a predefined maintenance schedule, edit/copy a predefined schedule or create a new schedule. The predefined schedules are described in the Schedules section.

Using the checkbox at the page bottom, you can choose between:

  1. Stopping monitoring all resources on a selected host during maintenance.

  2. Continuing monitoring without generating alerts.

The second type of maintenance allows you to see whether the host was actually on maintenance (state log for its monitors will show that they were in a Down state for some time, and then recovered back to an OK state). The state log will also provide information on maintenance duration. In contrast, if you stop monitoring during maintenance, all resources will enter the inactive Maintenance state for the whole period and will be activated when maintenance ends.

You can select several hosts and assign the same schedule to all of them by pressing the “Modify All” button:
