phd4-device-specific-command
1.3.6.1.4.1.11.2.3.9.4.2.1.4.1.7.3.4.2
This object is used to send device-specific data to the paper handling device. The meaning of the device- specific command is dependent on the paper handling device and must be specified in the POS. If the paper handling device does not accept the command, then an will be returned. If the device accepts the command, it may still be processing the command after the response has been returned. Depending on the device, the application may need to query PHDx-DEVICE-MEMORY to see when the command has completed. Additional information: If at least three (3) external paper handling devices are attached to the printer, then this object will exist, otherwise will be returned. Since the data formats can vary from device to device, this information must be documented for each device by the manufacturer of the device. If the device does not support this command, then an error message will be returned. Since it will usually take longer to send this command to the device than PML allows for operations, this object will have a return value that does not necessarily match the value currently received by the third device.
