When performance reports are being generated, it is possible to generate the so called trend reports. Trend reports allow to demonstrate trends, allowing to see how the ratio of different states changes in the course of time.
Trends can be used to detect general changes in performance; for example, if the overall ratio is shifted to host being mostly down, it can be assumed there are service degradation factors that are more and more importance; trends should be taken into account to see the overall picture and analyze the reasons of performance changes.
