Database monitoring

Database monitoring is one of responsibilities of database administrators in controlling DB functioning, detecting and handling failures database system workflow. Basically, database monitoring should include DB server monitoring – downtimes, CPU usage, memory usage, disk activity, etc. In extended form, it is direct control of a database – its performance monitoring including availability and responsiveness over time. Database monitoring can be carried out both manually and using database monitoring software.

Database Monitoring Tool, apart from the main functions of monitoring includes the collection of statistical data on the work of a DB and applications that use it. Also in cases of failures it sends alerts to DBA.
